Night Life

So you’re on vacation, the kids are with our amazing Extra Hand’s nannies at the resort, and you have the night to yourself. What now? Depending on what kind of fun you’re looking to have, we’ve arranged a list of all the best things to do while out on the town!

If a dreamy date is on the agenda for your Orlando vacation, here are some areas that might bring you closer.

-A special dinner in Disney World.

Disney provides an immersive atmosphere like no other and there are plenty of gorgeous park restaurants with just the right mix of food, lighting and magic to spark your interests.

  • Enjoy a delicious all you can eat meal in Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Resort and then head out to their little beach to watch the fireworks over the water at the Magic Kingdom.
  • Do some shopping in EPCOT and wind down the evening at Le Chef’s de France for an authentic dinner from France.
  • Dine with all of the elegance of Belle and the Beast at Be Our Guest Restaurant in the Magic Kingdom. I confess that we’ve went in full formal attire just to get the full experience (and some awesome photos!). You will either be seated in the East Wing, the grand iconic Ballroom, or the East Wing. You just better hope the beast doesn’t spot you there. And don’t forget to try the gray stuff… It’s delicious!
  • Mama Melrose in Disney’s Hollywood Studios provides a beautiful ambience shimmering strands of lights arranged in the ceiling and an interesting eclectic choice in décor that gives the feel of a downhome Italian restaurant. And in my opinion, Mama Melrose is home to some of Disney’s most delicious and generously portioned dishes.
  • La Hacienda in EPCOT’s Mexico pavilion is last on our list because it really was one of the best experiences we’ve had. The restaurant is beautiful; there are gorgeous lanterns hanging from the ceilings to illuminate the area, traditional Mexican décor, delicious food that would even appeal to the tamest pallet, and the best part is the view of Illuminations when seated by a window. It’s really a breathtaking experience.

-Grab dinner and a movie at AMC’s Fork and Screen Dine-in Theater.

Not only are the seats more comfortable and adjustable to accommodate cuddling, but also you can enjoy dinner right there in the comfort of the theater while watching a movie. I don’t promise the best food on property, but this one is more about the convenience and novelty of the experience.

Dancing and Nightlife

If you’re looking for a more active night out to spice things up, Orlando capitalizes on nightlife and entertainment!

-Jellyrolls Piano Bar at Disney’s Boardwalk

Let the good times roll at this lively piano bar for guests over 21 with dueling pianos and audience sing-alongs.

-Bongo’s Cuban Café

Treat yourself to the delicacies of Cuba while enjoying live bands and dancing!

-Universal’s City Walk

With some of the most lively night clubs in the area, you’re sure to find exactly the atmosphere you’re looking for if you’re out to party. With live bands, the Blue Man Group, and diverse dining options, there’s a little something for everyone.

-House of Blues and Splitsville

Grab tickets to see some of the most popular artists play. After your done enjoying some tunes, hit Splitsville for a couple games of bowling and a bite to eat.

Let’s face it, you don’t always get to enjoy all of the over the top, blood-pumping attractions that you would like to when you have kids. How many times did you choose to forgo the coaster in favor of a slow moving boat ride? Now is the time to get your fix!

-Universal Studios: Orlando

While Disney captures our childhood memories and nostalgia through their themed rides, there is still no denying that Universal is the king of the adrenaline high. Right off the bat you can’t miss Rockit towering a good 17 stories over the park with a 90 degree climb and plummet. Personal favorites include Harry Potter: The Forbidden Journey, The Jurassic Park River Adventure, and the Mummy!

-The Human Slingshot at Old Town

We’ve all seen the 390 foot neon poles when cruising through Kissimmee, and probably even heard the screams of the poor brave souls that decided to take the plunge. At 390 feet, the human slingshot at Old Town is the tallest in the world. If you want the bragging rights, step up to the challenge.

-Hard Knocks Laser Tag on International Drive

Do we ever really get too old for laser tag? The answer is NO, especially not for the arenas offered at Hard Knocks Laser Tag boasting multiple urban themed arenas to “bring your indoor war to life”. The most unique feature, however, is the mission modes. There are 70 different ways to play that involve teamwork and skill to take the win. Using real life props, you might have to retrieve secret documents from the other teams stronghold, or discover and “eliminate” the double agent on your team. Up your stakes by agreeing that the loser will be doing the laundry once you get back home!

Theater and Novelty

Maybe you’d like to experience some of the artsy and theatrical attractions, or perhaps just some strange and unusual sights. We have you covered.

-Sleuths Mystery Dinner Show on I-Drive

When you arrived, you are led to one of three intimate dinner theaters where you are treated as an invited guest by the outrageous characters. During dinner, you’re treated to a 45-minute comedy mystery where all of the facts and clues are presented and your table becomes a team, formulating questions for the live interrogation. You may then move around the room to uncover new clues and ask questions. Enjoy a delicious mystery dessert while making your final accusations!

-Ripley’s Believe It Or Not

Experience one amazingly unique attraction at Ripley’s Believe It Or Not Odditorium. Explore the unbelievable anomalies of the world in a 10,000sq ft. location that appears to be falling sideways into a sinkhole. The exhibit includes genuine artifacts and recreations of interesting occurrences. You can expect to see anything from real shrunken heads to wax representations of the worlds more unique individuals!

Now get out there and have a night to remember!
